Collection and transfer to the interim storage facility
Collection of hazardous waste
Collect separately according to waste type.
Use chemical expertise to convert reactive substances into inactive substances before disposal. Waste must not be treated in the interim storage facility. If required, Ms. Klauke or Dr. Voß will be happy to advise you. Or send an e-mail to sonderabfalltu-dortmundde. We will then get in touch with you.
Proper containers
Hazardous waste must be provided in suitable containers. Approved containers for collection and disposal can be obtained from the hazardous waste interim storage facility.
The containers must be clean on the outside and, in the case of liquid contents, may be filled to a maximum of 90% by volume.
Labeling
Ensure proper and permanent labeling during collection so that no "misfilling" occurs.
The labeling must correspond to the actual hazard potential, and excessive classifications should also be avoided.
Label forms can be obtained electronically from Ms. Klauke or Dr. Voß for you to print out yourself.
Costs and cost awareness
The costs of disposal are currently generally borne by the central administration. In individual cases, however, it is also necessary for facilities to bear the costs.
It is in the general interest to keep the costs associated with hazardous waste as low as possible. You can help the TU by observing the following rules.
- Declare and label waste with chemical expertise.
- Compressed gas cylinders - Pay attention to the TÜV inspection date!
- Check stocks regularly (at least once a year). Also pay attention to the condition of the containers.
