Laser protection and incoherent optical radiation (lamps, LEDs)

The department heads and facility managers who use lasers, laser processing machines or high-power lamps or LEDs in their areas are responsible for safe operation in accordance with current legislation and the state of the art. Appointment of laser safety officers:

In accordance with the Ordinance on the Protection of Employees from Artificial Optical Radiation, the head of the department/facility must have a laser safety officer appointed in writing before operating Class 3R, 3B and 4 laser equipment if they do not have the necessary specialist knowledge themselves. The laser safety officer must have the specialist knowledge required for his/her tasks. The technical qualification must be proven by successful participation in a training course and kept up to date through further training.
