Responsibilities

The university management is responsible for setting up an emergency organization.

Managers are responsible for on-site fire protection in their area of responsibility.

  • They ensure that all requirements arising from fire protection and the training of employees regarding behavior in the event of fire or other hazards are observed.
  • They also ensure that escape routes are kept clear of objects at all times and that emergency exit doors can be opened easily at any time.

Employees and students observe the guidelines and implement them.

The Occupational, Environmental and Health Protection Department organizes courses for fire safety assistants, procures fire extinguishers etc. and commissions periodic inspections of fire extinguishers and extinguishing and fire alarm systems. Your contacts are Uwe Tepe and Claus Poppe.

Tasks of the fire safety officer

  • Monitoring compliance with fire protection regulations, official requirements, inspections and fire protection concepts.
  • Support in instructing employees in fire safety.
  • Informing the university management of any fire safety deficiencies.
