TU Dortmund University has a duty to ensure their protection. Under certain circumstances, it may be necessary that pregnant women and nursing mothers are no longer allowed to carry out certain activities at their workplace, or only to a limited extent. Whether this is the case is also determined by two risk assessments, which must be prepared by the supervisor.

1. The basic risk assessment for workplaces must include general measures to be taken in the event of pregnancy, e.g. lifting and carrying.
2. In the specific case of pregnancy, a supplementary "individual risk assessment" must be completed. For this reason, a form is sent to supervisors by the HR department in the specific case of pregnancy, which must be completed together with the pregnant woman.
