Instructions
Instruction obligations arise from applicable occupational safety and environmental protection regulations (e.g. Occupational Health and Safety Act, Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health, Ordinance on Hazardous Substances, accident prevention regulation "Principles of Prevention").
With instructions, you inform and qualify your employees to behave safely and in a way that promotes health at TU Dortmund University. Therefore, do not just regard instruction as a legal obligation, but as an aspect of your corporate management culture. The working atmosphere is positively influenced and safety awareness is increased. This often has a positive effect on sickness rates and employee satisfaction. As a manager, you show that you care and are committed to smooth and effective work processes.

Instruction topics result from your risk assessment. You must discuss certain overarching topics, such as accident insurance cover, fire safety and the first aid chain, at least once a year (twice a year if you employ young people/internships).
Keep a record of who you have instructed, briefed or trained on which topics. Have each instruction confirmed by signature. You can find a sample form above.
Sample presentations and documentation can be found in the service portal.
If you need support on individual topics, the employees of the Occupational Safety, Environmental Protection and Health Protection Unit can give presentations on these topics. Please arrange appointments with Claudia Hannappel .
